A Bit About Myself

About Me
My journey into yoga began with curiosity. I remember reading about the practice and seeing so many inspiring figures—Madonna, Christy Turlington, Sting—all embracing yoga as a way of life. Intrigued, I started to explore, study, and immerse myself in its teachings.
When I moved to Chicago, my passion deepened. I took classes across the city—Vinyasa, Hatha, Bikram, Kundalini—each one revealing something new. I learned to move with breath, to balance on my head, to sit in stillness, and to observe. The long Chicago winters became a time of transformation—learning grace in movement, flowing with breath, sinking deeper into my practice, and discovering a profound connection between my body and mind.
A few years later, I moved to Austin, Texas, where I found a yoga studio that felt like home. The teachers, the energy, the community—it all resonated with me. A year later, without hesitation, I enrolled in teacher training, as if the universe had already paved the path for me. The more I learned, the more I wanted to study, practice, and share this beautiful tradition.
Since then, I’ve taught hundreds of yoga classes and led yoga and meditation retreats around the world.
Yoga has taken me on incredible adventures—sitting with gurus, practicing with extraordinary teachers, dipping into the sacred waters of the Ganges River, dancing in holy temples, meditating under breathtaking sunsets, participating in puja ceremonies, and chanting mantras in satsangs. This ever-evolving journey has led me to the most meaningful place of all—the present moment.
My Teaching Philosophy
I am deeply passionate about Hindu mythology and yoga philosophy. My classes weave together modern postural movement with meditation, integrating fluid movement and carefully chosen postures to prepare the body for meditation. I encourage students to use yoga as a tool for deeper self-discovery—to connect with their true nature.
Expect a challenging yet accessible practice that is light-hearted, fun, and safe for all levels. I invite every student to embrace their practice as it is today and enjoy the beauty of their own journey. Music is an essential part of my teaching, as is my love for the chakra system and Tantra yoga philosophy.
